"during class you had to read your peers facebook's paper what did you think of your paper after reading theres did you think it helped?
While reading my peers paper I thought they were really good. I like how each paper was different from the next. The two I read both had completely different thesis which made their papers interesting. I did get a little confused after reading there papers about what we were suppose to write about their papers were so different from mine. We had completely different bodies of paper. After reading my paper i wanted to change a lot I got a lot a great ideas from there papers. I think it did help a lot because it gave you a lot of ideas about how to help your paper improve and ideas. I started taking points from theirs and making it my own.

"what is your thesis statement topic and did it change after you searched for articles?"
My thesis statement is that you can be your most perfect, interesting self on the internet. After researching for articles I couldn't believe some of the things i found people would make themselves there perfect selves. they manipulate there photos and change everything they put on there Facebook to make them selves seem more interesting them how they really are. some of the articles wrote that after looking at people Facebook and talking to them in person there they were so different that you couldn't see any resumable between there Facebook and them in real life. after reading some of the articles i even thought about looking through my better making sure that people don't get the wrong option about me i want my Facebook to be resemble as how i am in real life. people can change so much about a Facebook that they can make up fake ones. pretending to be people they aren't or making one of someone they hate. Facebook is really just a big high school you met people look at there page and there nothing how you thought they were. Its a place to judge and be judged.

why do you think we judge people on Facebook?
I think we judge people on Facebook because we have nothing better to do with our lives. Our whole world is based on what everybody thinks of us. What our friends will think, what our family will think, what our boss and coworkers will think. Everything we do is judged. Facebook is just a place to basically sum up your whole life on a couple pages and pictures for the whole world to see you and judge you. i think we judge others to make yourself feel better about yourself. its good to know that someone that might have been mean to you in high school is now doing horrible. They say Facebook is made to network with people but i think its really just a way to see how bad the people you hate are doing. To find people in your class and judge them based on there Facebook deciding wither you want to be friends with them, decide if you want to room with them. We judge people to make our selves feel better and to make quick decides on people with out getting to know them. Yes I will admit I love Facebook but i do judge people to quickly and then later find out that they are nothing like they are seemed to be on Facebook. i think before we judge someone on the internet and what they put out there about themselves we should get to know them not everyone is what they seem on the internet.

"when i go on Facebook how do i judge people that i look at? do i judge people"
When I go on Facebook I definitely judge people. I look at their profile picture see if its bad, like if they have all their goodies hanging out. i don't mean to judge because i hate when people judge me but we cant help it its like a second nature to us. we look to see who they are friends with, what they post on Facebook, what their pictures are like. if i go to someones page the first thing i look at is their picture see what they are doing in it, who they are with and i judge them their then i look at the rest of the pictures look at the titles see if its all about parties and booze and judge them their then i look at their wall and see what they write, see who they talk to. Facebook is just a huge place to spill your life out and see what people say. i feel like they made Facebook for people to judge other people. i mean when you get invited to a party you have the option of saying maybe. maybe? thats just another way to judge i'm saying maybe incase something else better is going on, people can deny your friend request. i'm not denying that i love it because i do, and i do judge but it traps you. you go on for a minute and the next thing you know your on their for an hour or two just judging peoples profiles.

"how has your process of writing a paper changed since starting this class?" and has it helped?
Before the class started my writing process was pretty simple. I would start by type a paper without making an outline of my ideas. I would like ramble and put all my thoughts on paper and then I would spellcheck. I would never look at the grammar and make sure that my paper made sense and that it wasn't just a bunch of ramble. I would always get so many red marks on my paper and I would never know why.
Once we started class my teacher gave us new ways to write papers. She said we could start outlines to get all of out ideas out on paper before we start out paper. Then after we wrote our paper we would have peer groups. Where we would read different students papers and then tell them what they need to change. After that we would go meet with the teacher and have a meeting asking any other questions we had about our paper.
I think this has really helped me because now I make outlines for my papers, I write them and check spelling but I also look at the grammar. My process has also helped me because now I have at least 4 to 5 people looking over my paper and helping me make it better. This writing process has helped me a lot because now I have a different opinions, and outsiders look. This helps me a lot because then I can think about how they saw my paper and if i got my point across to them.

My views about advertisement really haven't changed much because before this project I still analyzed ever interesting ad I came along. although I really only just looked at it and wondered what they were selling I didn't think about the emotional apparel or who the audience was I mostly just wondered what the logic was behind the advertisement. I never thought I was a passive reader but I will admit that this paper made me think more about ads and more in debt about them. i have noticed a somewhat of a little change i noticed that now I always think about ethos pathos and logos when i'm looking at ads which takes it ten times longer to get through a magazine.

I view visuals by looking at the ad intently. I always try to think about what they are trying to convey. What the product is because a lot of visuals you see today have random things in the ad that has nothing to do with the product but the people creating the ad think it will get peoples attention to ad random things, which would make you buy their product. theres not a lot of ads/visuals I like, I think a lot of them are stupid and have random hidden meaning that don't make any sense. One visual I saw recently was a Doritos commercial that had a guy showing the dog that was outside the Doritos he was like rubbing it in the dogs face and then all of a sudden the dog came running in and knocked the door down on top of him. I read into the commercial so many times trying to figure out what they meant and why they put a dog in it like that. I don't think I am a passive reader at all. everything I come across I always look at and try to think what they were trying to say by putting what they did into each commercial and visuals. I pick every little thing apart I think its really interesting to look at visuals.

When I give a presentation I always try to look at one person and focus on them so I don't get nervous. I will focus on the teacher normally because it is easier to focus on the teacher and make eye contact with them then one of your piers. i always get nervous getting up to present someone. Its a lot easier if i know the people in the class because then if you say something wrong or do something wrong its not as embarrassing because you know the students in your class. when i don't know them it does change a lot because i get more nervous thinking what are they thinking about me. it also depends on how big the class is. if its 10 to 20 students it is not as bad but anymore then that i never know where to look and it gets over whelming.
Every time I have presented something I have been able to see my audience so that doesn't change as much as how many people are there and who they are. It affects me as a speaker because when I can see my audience I get more nervous and tend to say um and forget what I am saying. In the future of presenting I see myself practicing in front of some friends to avoid saying um and forgetting where I am at. I will focus on staring at the wall but looking around at different walls to make it look like i am looking at the audience so to not get nervous. Presenting in front of our writing class wasn't as bad as normally presenting in other classes I think it was easier because the class was chill and we all kind of knew a little bit of each other.

This week after writing our papers we had one-on-one conferences which was a lot different then what I would have normally done when I am writing my paper. My normal revision process is to write my paper then spell check it and read it once more. I know its not really a revision process. If I am with someone else I will have them read it over and give me some ideas. then i will read it over one more time, move things around if you need to and spellcheck again.
Going into the conference I wasn't really sure what to expect. I thought maybe i would go in and the teacher would tell me what to change and what to move. But the conference was nothing like that. We had to think of questions to ask.We had to control the conferences and talk about what we thought we did wrong and then the teacher would give us ideas on how to fix it. I think this helped a lot. I learned a lot more and thought more about the actually revision process instead of just trying to make it perfect.
I think this was more beneficial then doing it myself because I actually look at my problems and found ways to fix them and thought more about how to fix them and what the problem actually was. I learned a lot about how I write and ways to fix the problems I do but didn't realize in till the revision with the teacher. Having outside help affects the end product a lot because you get someone else's view on what you wrote. You can have different opinions then the reader when they read it. so its good to know outsiders points of views when you write. You always try to make a point so its good to have outside help to see if you got your point across.

writing: what do i want to accomplish in this course?
Walking into my writing class I wasn't really sure what to expect. The class was pretty small and the teacher looked really young. I thought to myself is it going to be like my other writing classes? My high school writing teacher was a huge hippy and well crazy. She would have us pick from a basket and inside the basket would be slips of paper with a couple words on it, like the car stopped and he was in loss of words to find.. and then it would stop and we would have to finish it. It was crazy and annoying. Sometimes their would be one word like sweater and we would have to use it in our writing. For a better lack of words it was pointless. So I had a thought in my mind of what I didn't want my college writing class to be but I had no idea what I wanted. I loved to write when I was younger I would write long stories about anything but I would ramble and ramble and nothing would have periods or grammar and everything would be miss spelled.
So I walk into class and the teacher starts talking about what we were going to do and what to expect for the class. I thought to myself she seems nice this class actually might be fun, and teach me something. The teacher asked us what we wanted to learn and accomplish. I though to myself I would really like to know more grammar things. Whenever I write I leave periods out and I never put commas in and I ramble a lot. I think I need to work on that a lot, to get all my ideas on a sheet of paper and then start to write it instead of rambling and trying to make all my ideas in my head fit on paper and make sense. I would also like help with standard edited english. I find myself using text message slang to often.
My goals for my college career are to graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and with a masters of Fashion Merchandizing and minor in Business. I want to move to new york and get a job with a independent company or a big corporate company. I think this class will help me to obtain these goals because I will sound more professional and learn how to carry myself when having a meeting or needing to write email or letters. This class will help me approve my grammar and standard english which will help me in the long run, like filling out applications and anything at work i would need to do. I think this class will enhance my writing and techniques.
