When I give a presentation I always try to look at one person and focus on them so I don't get nervous. I will focus on the teacher normally because it is easier to focus on the teacher and make eye contact with them then one of your piers. i always get nervous getting up to present someone. Its a lot easier if i know the people in the class because then if you say something wrong or do something wrong its not as embarrassing because you know the students in your class. when i don't know them it does change a lot because i get more nervous thinking what are they thinking about me. it also depends on how big the class is. if its 10 to 20 students it is not as bad but anymore then that i never know where to look and it gets over whelming.
Every time I have presented something I have been able to see my audience so that doesn't change as much as how many people are there and who they are. It affects me as a speaker because when I can see my audience I get more nervous and tend to say um and forget what I am saying. In the future of presenting I see myself practicing in front of some friends to avoid saying um and forgetting where I am at. I will focus on staring at the wall but looking around at different walls to make it look like i am looking at the audience so to not get nervous. Presenting in front of our writing class wasn't as bad as normally presenting in other classes I think it was easier because the class was chill and we all kind of knew a little bit of each other.
